Welcome to the Auburn Police Emergency Response Team. The Auburn Police Department Emergency Response Team (E.R.T) is comprised of 12 dedicated police officers who are specially trained in the areas of special weapons and tactics. Team members are selected from both patrol and detective bureaus and are required to attend a 2 week basic SWAT school. They are required to maintain top physical condition. The Emergency Response Team's function is to safely resolve critical incidents. They are called upon to handle barricaded gunman-hostage situations, execute violent felony warrants, parole warrants and drug search warrants. E.R.T has also been called upon to assist other Law Enforcement agencies in Cayuga County. Along with the 12 team members, E.R.T has five hostage negotiators. Officer Michael Roden, E.R.T Commander
